Information in english (Equity Certificates)Savings banks in Norway have traditionally been founded as private organizations whose equity capital comprises previous years´ retained profits, accumulated in that bank´s reserves. However, the Savings Banks - Act was amended in 1987 to enable savings banks to raise capital in the equity market by issuing Equity Certificates (EC). EC capital is regarded as core capital in the capital adequacy regulations.
